Track Review: The Glitter Shop – Sleep

Bury St Edmunds Rock City’s The Glitter Shop are back with another brilliant grunge-pop banger Sleep.

Following on from the release of 2017’s ear worm of a track Fizz and the beautiful Alive, the trio are back with a bang with the sweet and dreamy Sleep.

The track sees the band take inspiration from the likes of The XX and Turnover in creating a cinematic, feel-good track, combining the melodic guitar riffs, from guitarist Barny Cutter, with fuzzy synths coupled with the great harmonies throughout the track from bassist Harry Dale and keyboardist Ruby Smith.

The whole composition of the track is put together brilliantly, the track has a great tempo throughout with the instrumentals really complimenting the soft and delicate vocals.

A fan favourite already from their glorious live sets, Sleep is a welcome addition to their ever-growing discography.

The band have various live dates coming up and you seriously don’t want to miss them, especially their gig with indie outfit Thyla and the Bury Fringe All-Dayer (all dates on their social media).

Sleep is a brilliant track and it deserves thousands of listens. We absolutely love it, and from what I’ve heard, there’s still a lot more to come from the lovely trio.

NOW LISTEN TO: Alive – the stunning b-side to their debut track Fizz.

THE GLITTER SHOP play the Vinyl Hunter Blast-Off tomorrow afternoon with SUN SCREAM, BLUE MEAN EYES and more. From 12-6pm and it’s absolutely FREE!
